We're kicking off a monthly sailing adventure for kids that will expose them to everything from navigation to understanding tides to proper safety measures. Kids will apply their math knowledge while getting hands on experience working a boat.
The kids academy is intended to be a fun, safe adventure that exposes kids in a homeschool environment to sailing on the ocean outside of Cascais.

How long are the monthly sessions?
We're thinking 1/2 day classes that involve instruction and practice.
How many can kids can attend?
Comfortably, we'd say no more than 4. Everything will take place on the boat, so space is a factor. And, much more than 4, and it gets to be too chaotic and perhaps a bit unsafe.
Does it include food and snacks?
We'll have food and snacks, but you're welcome to pack something as well. The boat has a fridge and ample space to store food. If you want to bake some homemade goodies and send them for everyone, the captain would not mind. :D
Is there a cost?
We were thinking of making "donations welcome". Our main objective is to help provide homeschoolers a cool experience and to learn something new in a hands-on environment.
What is the day long excursion in June?
This initiative will culminate in a full day (6 to 8 hours) on the boat out on the water. We'll do some sailing, practice anchoring, cook a lunch on the boat, and go for a swim!
